The Customer Researcher reads what your buyers say to each other on Reddit, in reviews, in YouTube comments and on forums, and reports what frustrates them, what they love, what they ask before buying and the exact words they use. You get language from real buyers that you can paste straight into a sales page or FAQ. đź’¬
What it does
- Finds what drives your buyers crazy and what makes them rave, each with real quotes and a move for you.
- Lists 8 to 15 real questions buyers ask before buying, ranked by how often they come up.
- Explains why people don’t buy or leave, what they’ll pay more for, and the top 5 unmet needs.
- Builds a language bank of 30 to 40 exact quotes that grows every run.
- Gives you your top 3 moves, and content titles in your buyers’ own words for your Content Planner.
What you need first
- HowToAI School Connector connected to Claude or ChatGPT. See Connect Claude or Connect ChatGPT.
- Customer emails, reviews or survey answers, if you have them. They are optional: paste them when the employee asks.
- Google Search Console, if you can. It is optional and shows questions buyers already find you for. See Connect your data.
How to start it
- Open a new chat in Claude.
- Type
/howtoaischool-customer-research, or ask in plain words. - Answer the setup questions. Then it starts reading.
Example requests:
- “Find out what my buyers complain about and ask before buying.”
- “What words do beginners use when they talk about learning watercolor?”

The questions it asks you
It reads your site and searches for where your buyers talk first, so every question comes with suggested answers and its pick first. On the first run it asks, one at a time:
- What do you sell, and which offer matters most right now?
- Who is it for? Quotes from people who were never a fit are left out.
- What problem does it solve, or what result do buyers get?
- What would a buyer type into Google to find you?
- What do you already hear buyers complain about or ask? This lets it skip what you already know.
- Where do your buyers talk online?
- Where should the report go: your approval screen in WordPress, a Google Sheet, or the chat?
- How often should it run?
If your business answers are already saved, questions 1 to 4 appear as one “Still right?” check, and next time all saved answers do. You can also change these in WordPress under Settings → Employee settings → Customer Researcher. The Customer research card holds the schedule and where reports go, the Research card holds What buyers already ask or complain about and Where your buyers talk online, and the Instructions card takes anything else. See Employee settings.

What you get back
- The report goes to the Customer Researcher’s page: open Your AI team → Customer Researcher. Every finding shows the quotes first, then what’s underneath them, then your move.
- Each finding is tagged by how often it came up: high when seen in 4 or more places, medium for 3, low for 2.
- Each report’s row has PDF and Sheet buttons, and a Not read yet or Read label.
- The newest report also shows on Reports, in the Latest from your team card, with a Read report button. Your Content Planner and Content Writer read it too. See Reports.
- In the chat, a short summary with the top 3 frustrations and moves.
- Nothing is published.

Read the report
A report is something to read, not something to approve. There is no Approve or send back button: opening it marks it read, and your Content Planner and Content Writer use it on their next runs.
- On the Customer Researcher’s page, click a report’s row. It opens in a side panel.
- Read the short summary and the green Next move box, then the rows under What we found. Click a row to see What they said, why it matters and what to do.
- Check the quotes. Every finding rests on at least 2 real quotes from 2 different places, each with where and when it was said.
- Click I’ve done this on a move once you’ve made it. Your team knows on its next run.
- Open More from this report for What frustrates them and Their own words, and lift lines into your sales page, FAQ and emails.

Running it on a schedule
The usual schedule is every day, with the full report on the 3rd of each month. You can also pick monthly on the 3rd, or only when you ask. On the first run it sets up the schedule in Claude for you. Its page then shows Next full report.
Each morning it looks in your saved places for new posts from real buyers and sends new questions and complaints to your Content Planner. If it finds nothing new, it sends nothing. Scheduled runs never ask you anything. If a run is missed, a “Customer Researcher has stopped working” bar shows on Team status, with a Set schedule button. See Run employees on a schedule.
Tips
Tip: Paste a few real customer emails or survey answers on the first run. Your own buyers’ words make the report sharper.
Tip: If your exact topic is quiet online, it looks at nearby topics where the same buyers talk, and marks those findings “nearby topic”.
Tip: Your Lead Finder reads this report to learn where your buyers hang out, so run the Customer Researcher first.
Tip: After a full report you start by hand, the employee starts your Content Planner, so the content titles turn into blog post ideas to approve.
Good to know: The Customer Researcher only reads public posts. It never posts, comments, messages, joins a group or logs in anywhere, and never uses business websites as evidence. It never invents a quote: a finding without 2 real quotes is left out.
