Troubleshooting: your website

You changed a page but visitors still see the old one

Why it happens. Your website keeps saved copies of pages so they load fast. Until the copy is cleared, visitors and Google see the old page.

  1. On SiteGround, click Purge SG Cache in the bar at the top of WordPress.
  2. With another caching plugin or Cloudflare, clear its cache the same way.
  3. Open the page in a private window to check.

The SEO Auditor says a problem you already fixed is still there

Why it happens. Claude’s own way of reading web pages can hand it a copy saved days or weeks earlier. Then an old page you redirected, or a sitemap you already updated, looks as if nothing changed. Your SEO Auditor opens your pages and sitemap straight from your website instead, once Claude has the newest tools from it.

  1. Open the page in a private window. If it still shows the old page, clear your website’s cache (Purge SG Cache on SiteGround) and look again.
  2. Update HowToAI School Connector on your website, and add the newest skills plugin to Claude.
  3. In Claude, click Customize, then Connectors, and choose your website’s connector. Open the three-dot menu and click Refresh tools list.
  4. Start a new chat and type call seo-check-urls on /your-old-page/, with the address of the page. It should say where the page goes now. Then run the audit again.
  5. In the report, click Doesn’t apply? Ignore it on a problem you’ve checked is fixed.

The SEO Auditor says a page shows code like A-D in square brackets as plain text

Why it happens. Older versions of HowToAI School Connector took code inside a script, such as a quiz added with Thrive Architect’s Custom HTML, for a broken shortcode. Visitors never see it.

  1. Update HowToAI School Connector on your website. The next audit no longer reports it.
  2. In the report, click Doesn’t apply? Ignore it on that problem.

The SEO Auditor says Search Console has no data

Why it happens. Search Console data comes through Site Kit by Google. A new website, or one with few visitors, has little or no data for the first weeks.

  1. Make sure Site Kit is installed and Search Console is connected in it.
  2. Sign in to Site Kit with the Google account that owns Search Console.
  3. If Getting started step 4 says Can’t read yet, follow the fix it shows. See Connect your data.
  4. Give a new website a few weeks. The audit runs either way.

Speed tests don’t run

Why it happens. Speed tests run through Site Kit’s PageSpeed Insights, which needs someone signed in to Google in Site Kit.

  1. In WordPress, open Site Kit, then Settings, then Connect More Services, and connect PageSpeed Insights.
  2. Sign in with your Google account when it asks.

A course page shows no lessons in its sidebar

Why it happens. The course has no sidebar layout saved. Courses your team makes now get one by themselves.

  1. In Smart Creator Press, open the course and its Course Info tab.
  2. Set the sidebar to Left, and under Settings choose Below content & sidebar.
  3. Save, then view the course.

Templates on Templates and style aren’t the newest

Why it happens. Your website checks for new templates by itself while your license is active. A check can fail when your website can’t reach HowToAI School.

  1. Make sure your license is active on the License screen.
  2. Open your WordPress dashboard: your website checks for new templates when you do, and once a day. Or click Check for new templates on the employee’s Templates and style tab.
  3. Until a check works, the templates that came with the plugin are used.
