A quick check before you start, so setup goes smoothly. ✅
You need
- A WordPress website you can sign in to as an administrator. Only administrators can open Getting started, Skills, Settings and License.
- A HowToAI School license key. You find it in your account on howtoaischool.com. Every tool your employees use needs it, and Claude or ChatGPT can’t be connected without it. It also brings plugin updates to your Plugins screen.
- Claude or ChatGPT on a paid plan. In Claude, a Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise plan. In ChatGPT, a Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Education plan. Use them in your web browser for setup.
- A website that can be reached from the internet, with an address that starts with https. Claude and ChatGPT connect from their own servers, so a site that only runs on your computer can’t be connected.
Good to have
- An SEO plugin such as Rank Math, Yoast SEO or All in One SEO. Your SEO Auditor reads and fixes page titles and descriptions through it.
- Site Kit by Google, connected to Google Search Console. It gives your team your real Google numbers. Connect PageSpeed Insights and Google Analytics in Site Kit too, for speed tests and the traffic breakdown on Reports.
- Smart Creator Press, if you want the Course Builder, Product Builder, Funnel Builder and other builders to make courses and products on your site. Smart Events Calendar, Smart Community Builder and Smart Social Schedule turn on their own employees.
- Google Drive connected in Claude or ChatGPT, if you want a copy of each monthly report saved there, or reports and leads sent to a Google Sheet.
Good to know: Some web hosts, firewalls and security plugins block Claude’s and ChatGPT’s servers. Getting started has a connection test that tells you if yours does, and what to send your host. See Test the connection.
